News from the Point Venture Golf Club

First off I would like to wish everyone a happy holiday season and a happy new year! 2011 was the toughest year I have seen in my 23 years in the golf industry. We are obviously in a tough economy, the weather was extreme with the drought and the extraordinary heat, and there are now 45 holes of golf on the north shore peninsula instead of 27. Tough circumstances to overcome; however, with your and the board’s support we are plugging along at the golf course. Many players have told us the golf course is in the best shape it has ever been, so we are all looking forward to a much better 2012!

We had 3 large projects going on this year, with two of them being completed. The transformation of the fire house into our new maintenance building turned out fantastic. The building is very functional and looks great. Thank you to all that were involved in making this happen. We have also started our project of clearing out dead trees, trimming up trees, and adding cedar mulch under these trees. This will be a multi year project but will be fantastic for playability as we move on. Finally, we also finished installing a permanent roof for our deck area. It turned out great! I encourage all of you (even if you do not play golf) to come on up and enjoy the newest amenity to the neighborhood. We have a ton of fun social events scheduled this spring for all of you to use the deck. For example, we have a New Year’s Eve Party on Saturday, December 31^st from 8pm-1am. For $30 you get heavy appetizers, a champagne toast, and a DJ/Karaoke. We also have $2.00 drafts and $3.50 wines that night. Please sign up in the golf shop by Wednesday, December 28^th at 1PM. On Monday, January 23rd from 7-10pm we will be doing Movie Night on the Deck. There is No Charge and you get FREE popcorn as we watch two golf classics Caddyshack and Tin Cup on our 100” projection screen. On Monday, February, 20th we will be doing the fan favorite karaoke for the 3^rd time. There is no charge, FREE popcorn and $2 drafts and $3.50 wines. Come watch and/or sing your favorite tunes from the 50’s to today!

The golf course really needs more support from the local residents that do not play golf. This is your amenity and we encourage you to take advantage of it. Our Director of Golf, Justin Orbin, is available almost anytime for group lessons. Get a few of your friends together and he will do a group clinic for $20/person for an hour. Also, we would love to have all the residents as Members of the Point Venture Golf Club, come support YOUR club and be a Member for $39/month! We have a great Membership Drive going for 2012, so come on down and join or refer a friend to come join us. Any NEW Member that joins receives a 8 Day/7 Night trip for 2 to Hawaii, and a 2 for 1 airfare to get there. If you are not interested in the trip, the new Member can take 50% off the initiation fee instead. For our current Members, we have an offer for you also, if you get a friend to join and they write your name down on the application as their referral, we will give you a 8 Day/7 Night trip for 2 to Hawaii, and a 2 for 1 airfare to get there. Again if this trip does not interest you we will give you a FREE month of dues instead.                           Director of Golf, Justin Orbin’s and Randy Babbitt’s net score, you receive 1.5 times your bet
                          in golf shop credit. If you tie or lose to his score you receive your bet in golf
                          shop credit. Basically a no lose deal!
